The Deutsche Werkzeugmuseum (German Tool Museum) in Remscheid is the first and only museum of its kind in Germany. And in contrast to other museums, visitors can not only marvel at exhibits displayed in this building with its mixture of historical and modern architecture, but they can also actually grasp the pieces on display. You can hold a conference in the bright rooms next to a monumental steam engine, and while having a break take delight in the world’s first arc-furnace.

Today, the highly modern museum has a visitors’ laboratory, a cinema and restaurants. In addition, the venue has since long been a highly regarded location for scientific conferences. Located on the edge of the old town centre of Lennep which is steeped in the tradition of textile weavers, seminars and symposiums can be held in a bright and friendly atmosphere.

Up until the 19th century it was a Minorite abbey and later textiles were woven here until the 1980’s, when it was then converted into a cultural centre. The minster has become an important venue for staging cabaret and is also a popular event location. You can book events in either the Minorite Hall or in the Weaver Hall and smaller celebrations can be held in a variety of other rooms. The fashionable abbey tavern can also cater to your culinary needs.

Celebrities from cabaret, comedy and music enjoy coming to this venue. Smaller events can be booked and carried out here and a café in the front building provides food and service. In addition, being located in the nook and cranny old town of Remscheid-Lennep is a highlight in itself.

This is the perfect place for small outdoor events - in the garden situated between the hammer works and two water wheels, a pond and a small timbered house. It’s an unusual setting – a mixture of historical technology and the old working world. The Erlebnisweg Morsbach (Encounter Walkway Morsbach), which is both educational and full of flora and fauna, starts just on the other side of the house.

In an historical brick building constructed in the traditional pavilion style, and set in the park of the former hospital, trainers and coaches of the Synergia Institute have devoted themselves to the holistic concepts of business culture, health prophylaxis and communication techniques. You can plan your own events here to be held in rooms of various sizes as well as on terraces in the comfortable courtyard and, on request, with accompanying trainers and moderators.

he thrill of riding on a track grinding locomotive and in drive carriages is extraordinary and the lorries in the depot soon become requisites for imposing settings. The depot is not only a fascinating train museum, but also a place rich in variety awakening the desire of train enthusiasts for enjoyment. The route of the historical tram begins here gliding over the old tracks through the forest. The neighbouring pathway through the romantic Kaltenbach valley is bordered by testimonials of early industrialisation. Just a few steps away one can discover the historical, so-called, Manuelskotten, an edge grinding mill, as well as a romantic beer garden.

In fact, there was a festive maiden voyage of a hovercraft which originated in the Bleicherstraße and was launched onto the Rhine. Almost twenty years later the idea was born to convert the beautiful premises into a cultural centre.

Quickly the Bootshaus became a popular location for business and private events that ask for a stylish atmosphere and good technical equipment. Dark wood, warm colours, variable scope for interior design and advanced media technology provide the suitable framework with flair for cultural events, seminars and exhibitions.

The Centre of Communications is not just a conference room, discothèque or concert hall, since there are also different bars and stages available. The centre has its own professional kitchen and crew that provide for your well-being, even for larger events. And the neighbouring nationally renowned sculpture park “Waldfrieden” of the Tony Cragg Foundation is a further highlight.

This thoughtfully restored building with its rendered and brick façade and the typical glass roofing elements, which is now in the hands of the trusteeship of the association “Kommunikationszentrum für behinderte und nicht behinderte Menschen” (“Centre of Communications for Handicapped and Non-handicapped“), is an event location that is easily accessible using the suspension railway.

In a Bergisch backyard setting right on the course of the Wupper, the EVENTUM today is an event location with ideal conditions: a hall with elegant cherrywood parquet, perfect acoustics and the ideal size for medium-sized events. Plus equipment that caters to both technical as well as culinary needs. A barrel vault ceiling contrasted with modern installations, charmingly linking its rich history with the present.

Firstly, there is the former residence of the Engels family, which is dedicated to the works of Friedrich Engels. In the neighbouring factory buildings one can see objects attesting to the early industrialization of the Bergisches Land in the newly designed Museum der Frühindustrialisierung. This ensemble, found in the centre of Wuppertal-Barmen close to the opera house, is surrounded by the Engelsgarten where you can also see a sculpture by Alfred Hrdlicka.

Wooden galleries running high above and wrought iron columns, which appear like stately façades in the interior, are breathtaking. The recently restored church was rescued from demolition by a citizens’ interest group and is now in the hands of a community association. The Immanuelskirche is an ideal setting for concerts, lectures, music productions and festive occasions. The excellent acoustics and the unusual ambience of the church and the adjoining Harmannus-Obendiek House lend themselves beautifully to holding large and small events.

Their residence remained a treasure to the day: Four elegant halls that are actually salons, surrounded by a small private park amidst the historic Brill district. Just as unusual as this location are the possibilities for hosts who welcome their guests here. Linger with your guests, to begin with, over an aperitif in the former forester’s house on the property (today Café Podest). Go on a guided tour of the sculpture park Waldfrieden, a museum furnished by the famous sculptor Tony Cragg, where you can see works of important modern day artists. Celebrate or hold stylish conferences in the anthroposophic Villa Waldfrieden with its organic and billowy shaped rooms. The building is exquisitely furnished and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding elaborately designed park that can be seen through the broad window front.

Exposed quarry stones create an unusual atmosphere set under oak beams, and besides a room with a view of the moat and historical walls a terrace on the headrace lends itself beautifully to stylish receptions. Highlights of the museum, which is the heart of an industrial culture in a typical Bergisch forest and water landscape, are the well preserved steam engine and numerous historical looms that are still used today to weave textiles for the museum’s shop.

Above the largest bar in Wuppertal you can see a model of the suspension train and above the gallery there are silver brew kettles, where both mellow and tangy bottom-fermented beers are brewed. Located just a stone’s throw from the pedestrian zone and the market place, the brewery acts as a traditional backdrop where, on one day “Beer Queens” are crowned and then the next evening it becomes a splendid venue for a reception.

The heritage-protected building, located in the Bergisch-baroque setting of Solingen-Gräfrath, welcomes guests with clarity and peacefulness and offers elegant surroundings for conferences and events. The studio "Pest Projekt“ forms part of this artists’ colony in the Südpark Solingen. The gallery offers its exhibition space with its interesting mix of architecture and art for events. Various workshop rooms are also available. Even bigger events are individually designed, e.g. including joint art projects with participation of several Güterhallen studios. The opportunities of this location are close to unlimited - weather conditions permitting, the adjoining park invites for a stroll and sojourn as well. The mix of art and work generates an animated creative atmosphere. The offering is rounded off by the restaurant "Stückgut" located in the immediate neighbourhood.

The heritage-protected hall provides a breathtaking setting for exhibitions and celebrations. The former distributing warehouse with its glass coffered walls and polished parquet enhances conferences and provides the ideal conditions for conferences, meetings and discussions among partners.

The suspension ferry is, of course, a special attraction taking sightseers via two cables over the Wupper towards Schloss Burg.

The modern glass construction and the 12 meter in diameter circular rooms are located on the rural outskirts of Solingen. This highest point in Solingen measuring 276 meters above sea level is home to a structurally, and for the region, unique “Light House” and its inspired lighting makes it even more novel. It’s a landmark with unforgettable interiors, full of light, reflections and views inside and out. Here we have an event location that invites visitors by way of its unusual architecture to enjoy new perspectives.

This place offers an impressive atmosphere for events. Drop hammers, furnaces and presses are not the only pieces on display. There are also fully-functional production machines. The industrial museum regards itself as a “manufacturing museum”. Visitors and groups are invited to try their hand at a smithy’s forge using hammer and anvil. Events can be held in the former “Schlüssellager” (key storage), as well as in the open area in front of the factory facility.

Being a quiet and comfortable place with an appealing atmosphere in a natural setting surrounded by dense deciduous forest and a meadow which stretches to the Wupper, this location has an agreeable atmosphere for smaller events. The Schleifermuseum is just one of many stations along the “Erlebnisweg Wupper” (Encounter Route Wupper”), one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the region. Near the workshop there is also a pier for canoes providing further opportunities for water sports enthusiasts.

Conferences, informal discussions, workshops and coaching seminars gain a special touch, contributing to an excellent working atmosphere. Similarly, the meeting and conference rooms impart tranquil and inspirational strength leading to more successful seminars and presentations. True to it´s motto "We move children" the little ones can really let off steam on the 3,500 m² area and have a lot of fun. And not only that, as a family indoor playground it is very important that also the big ones have fun. The offer includes everything from A for air hockey to T for trampolines that make children's hearts beat faster, including bouncy castles, climbing labyrinths, splash gliders and much more. Of course, the classics such as billiards, football and table tennis are also represented. The in-house gastronomy provides selected dishes and drinks. The Tiki Kinderland usually opens its doors at 2:00 p.m. on weekends, public holidays and bridging days, and at 11:00 a.m. on holidays. Tuesday it´s closed outside the holiday season.
