    Dance, theatre and cabaret

The Bergisch city of Wuppertal has a lively art and culture scene. The Pina Bausch dance theatre has its home in the city. Initially, the choreography produced by this celebrated artiste was controversial, but then a revolution happened in Wuppertal and dance was completely redefined. Visit the dance theatre and understand why the company is celebrated worldwide today.

The programmes of the Teo Otto Theater in Remscheid and the Theater und Konzerthaus in Solingen are equally packed with outstanding cultural experiences. Local cabaret is not only to be found in Wuppertal's Luisenviertel. Creative spirits are also at work in the old clothmakers’ town of Lennep. Take a look at the performing arts programmes offered by the Rotationstheater and the Kulturzentrum Klosterkirche.

    Concerts, activities and events

The activities on offer in the Bergisch tri-city area are just as varied. There is something to do here all year round. Discover cultural highlights and a wide range of leisure activities. The Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal for instance is a true art nouveau gem with unique acoustics and the place to be for concerts and events. A feast for the ears is also guaranteed in any one of the venues where the Bergisch Symphony Orchestra plays.

At the Waldfrieden Sculpture Park you can experience how nature and art complement each other magnificently. The Von der Heydt Museum on the other hand takes you on a journey through time, from art of the 16th century to the present day.
