A completely different kind of hotel chain: cosy, with a regional twist

Viennese charm and Bergisches flair - does that mix? Mareike Cremer and Sarah Wustrack think so. Together, they run the Vienna House Easy Wuppertal. Mareike Cremer says it is important to include a local perspective as a host. "For example, you will find the skyline of Wuppertal in our reception or depicted on the carpets in the rooms", adds Sarah Wustrack and adds that the guest can get to know Wuppertal this way.

From the outside, it's rather understated. Very cosy inside. Almost like home. A hotel that makes you feel good. The slogan is also befitting: When a Hotel becomes your House. The interior is surprising with its fresh design, bright colours, plenty of daylight and, above all, a lot of attention to detail.

The surroundings of the hotel are also very impressive: on the right the Historische Stadthalle, on the left the Schwimmoper. The view is also unforgettable: From Johannisberg, you have a fantastic view of Wuppertal.

The Vienna House has a cooperation agreement with the Schwimmoper: Hotel guests can use the pool, sauna and fitness area free of charge. Bicycles are also available free of charge. If you don't want to pedal yourself, hotel manager Mareike Cremer has an excellent tip: "You can relax and enjoy the city with the bike taxi," pointing out the importance of sustainability.

In addition to a book exchange and a writing station for postcards, the Vienna House also has a plant bank. Here you can "adopt" flowers for a certain period of time: simply take them to your room and take care of them during your stay.

Local specialities and home-style cooking are the main features of the menu at the Gasthouse restaurant. For example the Bergische salad and the freshly prepared boulettes. All prepared with ingredients from the butcher around the corner. A "real" Wuppertal delicacy is of course the ice cream in the freezer in the Bergisches Shop. You can finish the day relaxed at the floating bar or on the outdoor terrace.

"For us at Vienna House Easy Wuppertal, it's very important to respond individually to the needs of each and every guest," says Sarah Wustrack, who is convinced that it is personal moments such as these that make guests feel so much at home.
