Dreamer or visionary? On the trail of Friedrich Engels

Follow the traces of a revolutionary. Friedrich Engels (1820-1895) came from a family of wealthy textile factory owners. But he was more interested in social politics and the lives of the workers. The famous son of Barmen – now Wuppertal – is remembered at the Museum of Early Industrialisation in buildings formerly belonging to the Engels family.

How did the people work and live back then? Find out during demonstrations of machines preserved in their original state. Wander through the museum and find out more about the living and working conditions of the time.

Children will also have fun on this museum visit.
