Around Solingen

Cycle tour with lots of ups and downs - a deep insight into the industrial culture

Cycling along by the river. The Wupper and its tributaries are your natural companions at many points along the route. The course of the Wupper forms the picturesque backdrop for quite a few kilometres.

This tour offers a lot of variety. You gain insights into the industrial culture of the Bergisches Land again and again. Ancient grinding cottages have been preserved to this day. Wipperkotten and Balkhauser Kotten can even be viewed. Just hop off and have a look inside.

The historic town centre of Solingen-Gräfrath is also a real eye-catcher. The old town cafés invite you to make a pit stop on your way.

This tour goes up and down. At the end, Ohligser Heide, a protected heath, will also move you. There are a few climbs to conquer on the way. But there is also a lot of exciting cycling. For example on the Korkenziehertrasse (corkscrew line), the s-shaped cycling and hiking trail through Solingen
