A museum, but not just that: Manuelskotten is the last water-powered grinding cottage in Wuppertal where they are still actively producing. So-called cutter knives for the meat processing industry are still ground here today.
The traditional grinding handicraft has been alive in Kaltenbachtal since 1755. A small exhibition on the upper floor provides information on the work processes and products. Unique in the region: the various types of steam engine, diesel motor, generator and electric motor all collected under one roof. The centrepiece is the enormous waterwheel with a diameter of over five and a half metres.
